  • 1/2 pound ground beef you could also use ground pork, chicken or turkey
  • 3 tbsp olive oil
  • 3 cloves garlic
  • 1/2 cup minced onion
  • 1/2 chopped pimiento
  • 1 envelope sazón Goya con coriander and annato
  • 1 can (10oz.) tomatoes Rotel style
  • 1 roll (16.3 oz.) 8 large biscuits
  • 1 egg lightly beaten
  • salt and pepper to taste

Recipe Notes

Heat the oil in a saucepan at medium heat and sauté the garlic, onions and peppers.

Add the meat and cook, stirring until the meat changes color. Add the tomato sauce and stir again reducing the heat. Season to taste and continue cooking for about 5 more minutes. Remove the saucepan from the heat and let it cool.

One-by-one, using your hands, stretch each bun’s dough to about six inches in diameter. Spoon two tablespoons of the meat in the center of each circle and close the dough tight making a bun. Lay them open-side down on the cookie sheet, about two inches apart. Brush each bun with the lightly beaten egg, spread sesame seeds over the buns, if desired and bake according to the directions on package.
